A working ranch, not a hobby operation.
P6 Quail raises northern bobwhite quail for hunters, trainers, and landowners across Texas. We sell hatching eggs, chicks, started quail, and mature quail, and every one of them comes off the same property in Purmela.

The Purmela operation
P6 Ranch began with a simple vision: creating a place where our family could spend time together and enjoy the outdoors. In November 2016, we purchased our ranch containing 520 acres with the intention of raising cattle, hunting, and making lasting family memories.
As our passion for the outdoors grew, we developed an interest in bobwhite quail hunting. What started as raising quail for our own hunting enjoyment quickly became much more. Over the next several years, we designed and built a large flight pen, continually refining our methods to produce stronger, healthier birds with exceptional flying ability.
The more experience we gained, the more we realized there was a demand for high-quality bobwhite quail in our area. By focusing on proper breeding, nutrition, conditioning, and allowing the birds to fully develop in our large flight pens, we found we could consistently produce quail that fly naturally and perform much like wild birds.
That passion eventually grew into a business. Today, P6 Ranch is proud to offer premium, flight-ready bobwhite quail, as well as healthy baby quail chicks and fertile quail hatching eggs. Whether you're stocking a hunting property, training bird dogs, starting your own covey, or building a breeding program, we are committed to providing healthy, high-quality birds and eggs.
At P6 Ranch, every bird and every egg reflects the same care, dedication, and passion that began as a family hobby and has grown into a business focused on quality, integrity, and preserving the tradition of bobwhite quail hunting for generations to come.

How the birds are raised
Hatching eggs
Breeder pens are collected daily and eggs are graded and stored on a set rotation, so what we sell for incubation is the same egg we would set ourselves.
Hatch
Eggs are collected daily, set on a fixed schedule, and hatched in-house so we know the age of every group on the property.
Brooder
Chicks spend their first weeks on controlled heat with a high-protein game bird ration and clean water lines checked every day.
Flight conditioning
Birds move to covered flight pens with the height and length they need to build wing strength before they leave the ranch at 16 weeks.
